What Type of Flooring Works for You?

There are a lot of flooring options to choose from, and we know it can be pretty overwhelming. A good place to start is to understand the different types of flooring available and the type of flooring that can be installed in your home. Below you will find a quick description of the most common types of flooring that we offer and the areas they can be installed over. There are always exceptions to these guidelines, but these are general rules that can help set you on the path toward the right flooring for your home. 

Solid hardwood

Is a solid piece of real hardwood that can be installed on or above ground level and over a crawl space. This is a nail-down installation.

Engineered Hardwood

Has a real hardwood veneer (top layer), with layers under the veneer to protect the top layer from moisture. It can be installed below, on, or above ground level over a crawl space or concrete slab. This can be a nail down or glue down, or floating installation.

Luxury Vinyl Plank

It is a vinyl floor with a printed image on the top layer made to look like hardwood. It can be installed below, on, or above ground level, on a crawlspace or concrete slab. This is a click-and-lock floating floor.

Luxury Vinyl Tile

It is a vinyl floor with a printed image on the top layer made to look like tile. It can be installed below, on, or above ground level, on a crawlspace or concrete slab. This is a click-and-lock floating floor.

Laminate

It is a wood composite material with a printed image on the top layer made to look like hardwood. Most can be installed below, on, or above ground level. This is a click-and-lock floating floor.
